That is the plan

The carpet was rotted to pieces and totally ruined by mold and the metal underneath was covered in surface rust and filth. I had a bunch of blue spray paint lying around.

Would you prefer the surface rust and mold-covered carpets? They smell lovely and look disgusting!

Not really. Before it had appeal to nobody unless people really liked making themselves sick from mold spores and the floor pan rusting out. Now it appeals to every highschooler EVER.

(Relative the the resale value comments) I’m not seeing a huge deal...?
Do you have the proper molding and carpeting and everything to put back in? Because I feel like they would (virtually) entirely cover the blue painted body...
I personally find this amusing. Not particularly tasteful, but not that ridiculous. Just ridiculous enough imo

Blue Rustoleum?

yup. Had a few cans lying around, might as well use them.

Nah, no new carpet. I’m going for free fixes here. I had rustoleum sitting around. I don’t have $150+ for a new carpet for a rusty 1993 Nissan Sentra I’ll be lucky to sell for $1k

I did the exact same thing in the same color to the third car I owned.
Funny.

For however many people who might be interested in buying an old Sentra anyway, this fells like the kind of thing that further reduces that number of folks to something that may or may not be a non-zero number. In this scenario, flat black, or flat gray, seems like it might alienate fewer potential buyers.

I’ve seen this car in person. Trust me, this doesn’t hurt

Those colors would have required buying paint. This did not. Free solution is bestest solution.
